In a month, I'll be heading to Connecticut for a songwriting workshop. This is something new for me, but it looks great. What spurred this was reviewing the Connecticut Songwriters Association website and scanning the book The Songwriters' Coloring Book. There were so many factors and features to consider in songwriting that I felt really humbled.
The major point was that when you create a song, you have a rough draft, like a diamond that has been unearthed. However, it's not ready to be shown off yet. It needs polishing, and songwriting workshops are designed to help with that.
